Series Statement

The entry deadline for Season 6 of the Sports Car Open Endurance Series has now passed. Unfortunately, the minimum number of reqquired entries could not be reached. As a result, the series as a whole will be cancelled. There will also be no SCO leagues or events run as a replacement on any of the dates originally announced.

Sports Car Open and morphicon media AG are delighted to announce the return of one of SCO's most competitive and longest-running series: The SCO Endurance Series! Thanks to our partnership with RaceSpot TV, all races of the sixth edition of the series will be broadcast live. In addition to this, improvised Media will be providing picture coverage of every race in the follow-up to each event.

Sports Car Open announces 24h of Spa with title partner Virtual Racing School and $10.000 prize pool

Munich. International simracing series organizer Sports Car Open, in cooperation with title partner Virtual Racing School, announces the endurance event of the year with the SCO VRS 24h of Spa on the final weekend of July 2021. After collaborating with series partners Morphicon and Racespot on the Sprint Series, Sports Car Open now follows up on its long-standing endurance racing history. The 24h of Spa will spearhead the endurance side of virtual GT racing on the iRacing platform and feature a dedicated prize pool of $10,000.

Sprint Masters Pre-Qualifying concludes after 40 sessions and 631 laps

Spa-Francorchamps. The Pre-Qualifying for the VRS SCO Sprint Masters determining the 30-car grid has concluded. Across a span of four days, the series participants logged a total of 631 valid laps at the Belgian Spa-Francorchamps in pursuit of landing one of the coveted series entries. A team effort was required already, as both drivers were required to complete laps to form a team average. After a total of 40 sessions at the world-famous Ardennes rollercoaster the five fastest teams per car now make up the 30 season entries.

Sports Car Open announces Sprint Series with title partner Virtual Racing School and $25.000 prize pool

Munich. International simracing series organizer Sports Car Open, in cooperation with title partner Virtual Racing School, announces hosting the dual-series VRS SCO Sprint Challenge and VRS SCO Sprint Masters. Together with series partners Morphicon and Racespot, Sports Car Open is creating the new spearhead of virtual GT racing on the iRacing platform with a prize pool of $25,000.

1 team - 2 drivers- 6 Race weekends with 2 races per day

The Race weekends of the VRS SCO Sprint Challenge and Masters will take place on three Fridays and Saturdays in July and August 2021 each. The Sprint Challenge teams will commence the weekend with their GT4 cars on Friday evening, while the participants of the Sprint Masters will Race their GT3 cars on Saturday afternoon. In both series the teams will fieldtwo drivers per car and tackle two races per weekend, each lasting 60 minutes. A driver change must take place in the middle of the race, between minutes 25 and 35. Furthermore, each driver is obliged to qualify and start one Race of each weekend exactly once. The sophisticated vehicle-based pre-qualifying system and per-Race Balance of Performance ensure equal opportunity and support the competition at an international top level.
