SCO Endurance Series - Season 6 - The all GT3 1000km Season
Sports Car Open and morphicon media AG are delighted to announce the return of one of SCO's most competitive and longest-running series: The SCO Endurance Series! Thanks to our partnership with RaceSpot TV, all races of the sixth edition of the series will be broadcast live. In addition to this, improvised Media will be providing picture coverage of every race in the follow-up to each event.
CHANGES
For the new season, a raft of changes have been made. The most significant among them is the grid being made up entirely of GT3 specification cars, with the field being split up into GT-PRO and GT-AM subclasses, similar to what was seen during SCO's 2019 SCO GT Series. Along with each sub-category's championship, there'll also be a combined GT championship for which all teams will be eligible and which will be the main focus of the series. A short overview of all changes can also be seen below.
- Move to an all-GT3 grid
- Introduction of PRO and AM sub-categories
- Introduction of Driver Ratings
- Revised Penalty System (including time penalties and 'penalty box')
- Introduction of Driver Licence Points
- Revised Points Scoring System
SCHEDULE
Also new for this season is the return of a seven event schedule, after one of the rounds had to be dropped from last year's schedule due to time constraints. For the first time ever, all events will also be limited to a distance of 1000 kilometers with a time limit of 7 hours. Among the venues we see a return to the familiar circuits of Sebring and Spa-Francorchamps, while circuits like the season opener at Monza, the Nürburgring and Barcelona after having been previously part of the series. Pre-qualifying returns to Interlagos, having been held there before as part of SCOES3, while both Suzuka and Magny-Cours will make their first ever appearance. The full schedule along with all dates can be seen below.
